a year in review

These are some of my favorite my own photos, taken in 2012. Selecing few photos from every month have been both challenging and relieving at the same time:) I tried to keep to a 2-3 photos from every month, but some months i had lots of photos i loved, some months passed without creating something of a value. 2012 has been quite a good year, photographically speaking. I had an opportunity to shoot one wedding, with lots of photos on film and one christening ceremony. I took lots of personal photos. a lot of work on film. I started with Instagram. At the beggining of the year i spent quite a lot of time thinking about maybe I should start photography business, but at the end of the year i am really happy i didn't. It just never felt right. I would never be happy spending time on advertising and client hunting. I don't have that type of creativity that blossoms best when one has lots of free time. on a contrary, i take my best photos when i have so little time and so busy with everything else...I am much more happy keeping a well paid engineering work and letting the right people find me on the right time and asking to take some photos. I am now really happy keeping photograhy as a hobby, passion and life style. I am able to take photos whenever i want to, what i want to and how i want to, without slightest thinking about how to make much money of it. At the end of the year with a big smile i find out i do have a little accound with some photography money, and this is the first year it happened since i started. While some other things in my personal life has been far from perfect this year, taking pictures has always been a big source of happines to me :) i am now quite happy with my own photos. I am aware they are not perfect technically, but i have learned to not to bother about that. I have learned to accept that it is not som important to me and that is what matters. Now i know i have found my style and I am so ok with what it is. Goals for next year? I am not so eager about writing something like that, because things i want changes so often. I still want the same things as a year ago - more people in my photos, more film work. More interior and more food (not only desserts!) pictures i would love to see in my film rolls in 2013 :) February:
