old new
Meet the newest member of my photo family :) The legendary russian portrait lens, Helios, had been on my wishlist for almost 2 years, until i finally decided to buy it for myself :) If you follow me long enough, you may know, i am not the one to upgrade my photo gear often. being a firm believer that photography is all about eyes, i always take time to make decisions about any photo related investments and own a minimal amount of photo stuff. having said this, you can imagine, i am very happy to get something big like this lens :)
I believe the lens is made at about 60'-70' ies, correct me if i am wrong. It is for my Zenit film camera, but i can teoretically also mount it on my digital Nikon with an adapter. My first impression, that the lens is very metallic, very huge and very heavy. i mean, veeery heavy. it is heavier than the camera itself, heavier than my both cameras together. I am very curiuos how many photos i will be able to take at one time without getting any physical pain in my hands:).
